I hope you’re doing well.
I don’t know about you, but my 2023’s been a nightmare. I’d always thought I knew what the words ‘busy’ and ‘hectic’ meant, but it’s December and I’m only just realising that I haven’t sent out a newsletter all year long. Wow. So if you get this and wonder ‘When did I sign up for this?’, I don’t blame you.
As I feel the internal pressure to sit down and make a plan for the new-year-new-me BS I do every year, I’ve come to realise that the only thing I can plan for is that I won’t in fact be a new person next year. I will be cranky in the morning, even though I know my workout is good for me and I always feel good when I’m done. Things will be hectic at work, and trying to be a ray of sunshine in the middle of hecticness is not in fact doable.
So I’m going to try this new thing this year where I write because I love to. I create recipes because I have to eat and I share them with you because I know you enjoy them. Forget the algorithm, forget the ‘rules’ that will supposedly turbocharge my growth.
So, I have a few ideas of things I may write next year. ‘Saucy Sundays’ is my favourite - where I’ll send you a sauce recipe on a Sunday that you can make in a few minutes and use all week long. I have a couple ready already.
